Smart Street Access Sensors Collect Data

What should be an intelligent road? Recently, the Port Authority of Hamburg (HPA) in Germany and Cisco have spent four months to make smart roads a reality.

Hamburg is an important port city in the north of Germany. This new smart road is close to the quay of Hamburg and connects three nearby roads. At the same time, it also connects a road and railway dual-use bridge – the Kattwyk-Brücke bridge.

The so-called smart road includes four aspects: lighting, traffic, environment, sensors.

For example, the construction team installed cameras and sensors on the street lights on both sides of the road. Only when the pedestrian passes by or rides on the road will the corresponding street lights turn on automatically. After the passerby leaves the lighting range of the streetlight, the corresponding light will be automatically turned off to achieve energy saving.

Due to proximity to the port, the environmental data collected by the environmental sensors on this road will be transmitted to the management system in real time through the wireless network to analyze the real-time weather, air quality, and parking conditions of the port.

The length of the lift bridge connected to the Elbe River by the smart road is 290 meters. In order to facilitate the passage of the ship, the opening hole of the bridge will be opened for two hours per working day, and the lifting process will take 15-20 minutes. During this period, the roads and railways on the bridge cannot pass.

One of the functions of smart roads is to reduce the impact of outages on traffic in a more economical way.

The pilot of smart roads will begin in May this year and will continue until April 2016 to assess the impact of smart roads on traffic and urban efficiency.

In fact, this road is part of the Smart City project in Hamburg and is the first smart road to use in Europe.

The Port Authority of Hamburg signed an overall cooperation agreement with Cisco in April 2014. Philips is responsible for the intelligent lighting system. AGT provides analysis software, German communication service provider T-System, sensor manufacturer World Sensing and video analysis conversion service Kiwi. All of them are partners.

Bagasse Pulp Making System

The lack of paper making raw materials is a common problem, the use of seasonal growth plants or wild trees etc for the paper pulp is an effective solution. However, using this material pulping will produce a lot of black liquor containing inorganic compounds, how can get more fiber pulp, low investment to processing black liquor which can let it reach the water recycling or reach the discharge standard of environmental protection, it has been a worldwide problem all the time.
