The basic structure of the tool setting tool is shown in Figure 5.29. In Fig. 5.29, the tool holder platform 7 is equipped with a shank holding shaft 2 for mounting the tool under test, as shown in Fig. 5.30. By quickly moving the one-touch button 4 and the fine-tuning knob 5 or 6, the position of the holder gripping shaft 2 on the knife setting tool platform 7 can be adjusted. When the light source emitter 8 emits light and the tool blade is magnified and projected onto the display screen 1, the size of the tool in X (radial dimension) and Z (direction length of the tool shank reference surface to the tool nose) can be measured.
The tool setting operation of the drilling tool is as follows:
1. The tool to be measured and the handle are connected and installed as one;
2. Insert the shank into the shank clamping shaft 2 on the tool holder and tighten it;
3. Turn on the light emitter 8 to observe the projection of the blade on the display screen 1.
4. By quickly moving the one-touch button 4 and the fine-tuning knob 5 or 6, the projection position of the blade on the display screen 1 can be adjusted so that the tool tip is aligned with the center of the crosshair on the display screen 1, as shown in Figure 5.31;
5. Measured X is 20, ie the tool diameter is φ20mm, this dimension can be used as tool radius compensation;
6. The measured Z is 180.002, that is, the tool length dimension is 180.002 mm, which can be used as tool length compensation;
7. Enter the measured dimension into the tool compensation page of the machining center.
8. After removing the tool under test from the tool setting tool, it can be installed on the machining center.
