September 16, 2011, funded by Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and the Shaba Bridge built in cooperation with Fuqiang Village, Tiefeng Township, Wanzhou District, Chongqing Municipality officially took the groundbreaking ceremony. This is another measure Michelin has performed in its corporate social responsibility. It also reflects Michelin's long-term concern for the impoverished areas and its commitment to road safety.
The newly-built Shaba Highway Bridge is located in Fuqiang Village, Tiefeng Township, Wanzhou District, Chongqing City. The bridge is 30 meters in length. Michelin donated RMB 200,000 to participate in the construction. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Wang Zhaohua, Vice President of Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd. stated: "As a responsible corporate citizen, Michelin not only pays attention to the construction of poverty-stricken areas, but also devotes its practical actions to local development work. Bridge foundation laying ceremony
