Overview
A state-owned oil company integrated Advantech's ADAM data acquisition module, Windows-based VisiDAQ 3.1 HMI software and ultra-thin computers to build its new pump station's SCADA system. CPC uses Advantech's VisiDAQ 3.1 software, which runs on a PPC-102 with Windows 95. An RS-485 network sends information about the pump station status to the ultra-thin computer workstation.
System Requirements
The oil company needed a powerful SCADA system. It can be high-speed long-distance transmission. The pump manager asked the system to monitor and report the accident at the pump station. The system should be able to fully alert the police and inform management of the incident when it occurs. Must be easy to use and maintain.
System architecture
Seven RTD input modules (ADAM-4013), one analog input module (ADAM-4017) and one digital input and output module (ADAM-4050) communicate with the PPC-102 through an RS-485 network VisiDAQ 3.1 to communicate. The system monitors the operating status of the pump station in a centralized manner. The monitored status includes pump bearing temperature, pump pressure and oil temperature. Monitoring results are displayed numerically and in color, giving the operator an intuitive view of the state of the pump. The ultra-thin PC touch screen allows operators to select and enter parameters simply by touching the icons on the screen, observing real-time trends and generating all summary reports. All data is archived and exported for future analysis in Excel.
Oil pump system structure
in conclusion
The monitoring system is already running efficiently. The company is pleased with the system, which plans to adopt the system at all its pumping stations and intends to connect the systems over the Internet to provide company-wide monitoring and data access.
